- Download and print the appropriate application below.
- Complete the application to the best of your ability, following the instructions on it. This may include getting some pages notarized, so please read the instructions carefully and contact us with any questions.
- Be sure to include payment for the application fee.
- Hand over the completed application - applications can be handed directly to a member or mailed to us. Try calling to see if a member is at the station to collect it.
- We may have some additional steps that we'll contact you about, including an in-person interview and physical exam from a physician.
- We'll do the rest, which includes
- Reviewing your application and providing a summary in the next monthly meeting (First Monday of each month at 7 PM, or the following day at 7 PM in case of a national holiday). These are public meetings, but you are not required to attend.
- Collecting a vote from the current members whether to accept or decline your application.
- Making a phone call to you as soon as possible to inform you of the results.
- After this process, you're likely now Probationary member of Town of Clayton Fire Department. You'll need to start attending training and can begin responding to calls as soon as a chief permits you to do so. You will be assigned turnout gear and a pager as they become available, and given access to the Bryx 911 app to receive alerts for emergency calls.
