Today at 2:47 PM, units were alerted to a residential structure fire at 19464 Peel Dock Road on Wellesley Island. The initial call reported a laundry room and bathroom on fire and a second caller reported flames coming from the roof. Units quickly arrived to extinguish the blaze and begin overhaul operations. We cleared the scene after about two hours.
Wellesley Island Fire Department was assisted by Fisher's Landing, Lafargeville, Alex Bay, and Clayton Fire Departments. 7 News Report Around 10 PM we were alerted to a motor vehicle accident on County Route 4 in the town of Clayton. It was reported that a vehicle struck a tree. We arrived on scene to find a pickup truck that had left the roadway, striking a mailbox and a tree. There were no occupants in the vehicle by the time responders arrived. We assisted with removing debris from the vehicle and returned to service, turning the scene over to the New York State Police.
Decommissioning the "Last Chance" before winter storage in its heated storage facility. We will be adding new marine electronics and navigation system this winter as well as new Fire Band Radios for enhanced multi agency communication.
